Sports

Lets I'm really into my sports..,these days more the watching than the playing though! Back in the day I played football, soccer, basketball and last of all had a very successful 3 month camogie career. My favourite of all that i played for about 5 years was soccer and that was kind of because i was a massive Arsenal fan. But after our underage team broke up that's where intended and that's when you really see there's no real representation for women in the worlds most popular sport.
Lets say if you where to ask the question, 'Who won the last World Cup?'...
No doubt nearly everybody you asked could answer Spain!
But on the other hand ask 'Who Won the last Women's World Cup?'...
Even I had to Google that one and I'm guessing not even a handful of people would know Japan are the world champions.

Its crazy to think the only sports women really get acknowledged for are those in the Olympics and professional tennis, and even at that women still lag behind men. It begs the question is this favouritism in sport just a acceptable form of sexism or is there just a lack of demand to see women play a sport men get paid hundreds of thousands of pounds to play in the premier league every week.
And now even though events like the Women's World Cup Final are being televised, they're still in no competition with the male equivalent !
